I’m a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Artificial Intelligence and Democratic Citizenship Initiative [AIDC] at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. I previously earned my PhD in Philosophy from Georgetown University in 2026.
My research interests include social and political philosophy, social epistemology, and the philosophy of AI. At the most general level, I’m interested in how sociotechnical systems can be organized to give us greater control over our individual and collective lives. I investigate how institutions can organize the division of cognitive labor without undermining our capacity to understand and exercise control over them. My research appeared in academic journals such as Synthese, Inquiry, Religious Studies, and Sophia, as well as in public-facing outlets such as Jacobin and Jungle World. Before coming to Georgetown, I studied in Oxford, St Andrews, Vienna, and Leipzig. I’m originally from Germany’s North Sea coast.
Outside academia, I enjoy playing chess and gardening. I’m also an amateur hacker.
