Philipp Kremers received his PhD in Philosophy from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Beginning in Fall 2026, he will join Georgetown’s Artificial Intelligence and Democratic Citizenship (AIDC) initiative as a Postdoctoral Fellow.
His research interests include social and political philosophy, epistemology, and philosophy of technology. His work focuses on bureaucracies and other large socio-technical systems. He is interested in their characteristic epistemic, moral, and political problems (e.g., fragmented understanding and blurred responsibility) and in whether they can nonetheless play a meaningful role in a well-organized society. Prior to Georgetown, Philipp studied philosophy in Oxford, St Andrews, Vienna, and Leipzig. He is originally from Germany’s North Sea coast.
